Mountain Championships this weekend at Belair National Park

posted 25 Jun 2012, 16:03 by Race Walking SA - SARWC
Hello Members,

Please see details below from Peter for the Mountain Championships this weekend at Belair National Park. As per last year we will be having a BBQ and ask for a gold coin donation. If you are a veggie and plan to attend the BBQ please let me know what you would typically have in replacement to snags.

I will purchase bread, snags, onion, sauce, salad, drinks.

It was a good event last year with the BBQ giving opportunity for some socialising hence it would be great to see you all.

Regards
Steve

Hi Steve

Can you please put the following information on the web site for this weekend’s mountain championships.
Events will be held over the 5.2km course for open, under 20 and masters men and women, with open men going back for second bite.
Juniors will be over 3.5km and 2,5km, with support events over 1.5 km for the faint hearted.
Events are scheduled to start at 1.30pm, with the common start for all events at the main oval.
Unfortunately, the place we stopped for our BBQ last year is being renovated, so we are stuck with the Gold Escort, which is around 1.5km form the start. This venue was chosen as it was closer to the toilets than the other available one.
BBQ will be held with gold coin donation.
Athletes will be transported back from their finish to the BBQ and open men back to the start for the second time around (volunteers please ?).
The park has a $11 per car entry fee, and we can share this across others who choose to park outside and walk in and hope they can get a lift to the BBQ or start.
